Wanda K. W. Ebright holds a BA in French from the University of Memphis, an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from Florida State University, and is pursuing a PhD in Dance at Texas Woman’s University. Her research focuses on recovering the history of people of African descent in classical ballet. Ebright earned certification to teach grades P-12 in Georgia, where she taught grades 8-12 for four years before becoming an Assistant Professor of Dance at Kansas State University.She served Coker College for eight years as Dance Program Coordinator, earning tenure and a promotion to Associate Professor of Dance. Prof. Ebright is currently Chair of the Dept. of Visual, Performing, and Communication Arts at Johnson C. Smith University, and is Chief Executive Officer of Midlands/ Pee Dee Dance, TWP's parent organization. Prof Ebright has danced with Memphis Classical Ballet, performed with River City Ballet of Memphis and Schmaltz Broadway Cabaret Revue, and has done summer study with Charleston Ballet Theatre, Nashville Ballet, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, the National Ballet School’s Summer Teacher’s Seminar and River North Chicago, and is an active guest teacher and choreographer in the Southeastern U. S.
